Welcome Egle
Posted on Oct 23, 2023Back in February, we welcomed Egle to the Retail CU team! Having recently celebrated her 6th month anniversary with us, we sat down with Egle to catch up and find out how she’s been getting on…
“I am originally from Lithuania but have lived in the UK for 16 years now. I’ve lived in a couple of cities throughout England, but I love living in Manchester and now I can’t imagine living anywhere else!”
How did you find out about Retail CU?
“I was contacted by a recruiter who sang really high praises about VACU and all the work they did. It didn’t take much convincing as it sounded like a great move so I agreed to interview, 6 months later and I can say that I made the right choice.”
How have you found your first 6 months with Retail CU?
“It has been really great! The office is quite small however everyone works really efficiently and the whole team are always focused on doing the best for our members. I feel like I’m finally in a place where my knowledge in the finance industry is fully appreciated and my input is always taken on board.”
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
“I’d say my biggest achievement would be successfully switching industries for work. I have a bachelors and a masters in Contemporary Art, which people tend to be shocked about, but after finishing my master’s I wanted to work in a more structured industry, so I started working for a bank and worked my way up to becoming an Underwriter. It was challenging getting to this point but I’m proud of everything I have learned along the way.”
