Welcome Delyth!

At the beginning of August, we welcomed Delyth Williams to the Retail Credit Union Team, part of The Penny Post Group! Delyth joined our Business Development team and has now been part of The Penny Post Group for just over a month! Delyth’s background is training and recruitment, running community projects, and most recently worked for her local credit union in Wales for 4 years before joining us.

Here we catch up with Delyth about her first month with us and we will find out more about her.

“I wanted to introduce myself as the newest team member of The Penny Post Group! It will be great to get out to meet and get to know our employers who run our payroll saving and borrowing schemes and their employees. The past month has been an absolute whirlwind. I had the pleasure of meeting the team in Manchester to learn the culture, processes and products, I feel have hit the ground running!”

Over the past couple of weeks, Delyth has been working hard across Liverpool working with Merseyrail, taking part in their Health and Wellbeing Roadshows, chatting with employees about our credit unions and how we can help with their financial wellbeing.

“The roadshows were an immense success, over 10% of the roadshow attendees joined The Penny Post Group and are already seeing the benefits of their credit union membership!”

Now for the fun part – more about Delyth!

“I grew up on a small hillside sheep farm in the Valleys of South Wales and I have a love for Horses and Donkeys. In my down time I enjoy being creative, and I love to bake!”

“The picture shows some recent wedding cakes I have made.”

“I am very proud to say I am Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Holder and A Queen’s Guide. I owe a great deal of my formative skills to the most important power couple that the Uk has seen in this century. These awards also started my love of travelling and I have visited around 30 different countries. But, a piece of my heart is always at the smiling cost of The Gambia! Every year since 2007 I have visited Masa Mara Nursey School to help teach and support. The transformation of the school over the past 15 years has been incredible – from the beginnings of the school being held under a baobab tree in Bungdung Village the school now has its own compound containing 3 classrooms for its 150 children with a play yard and running water. My son visited on occasions with me and totally appreciated all he had at his school.”

I cannot wait to help grow our group of credit unions and support even more people in the financial wellness journey. Take care, cannot wait to meet you all. “Hywl Fawr” (Goodbye).

We are so happy to welcome Delyth to the team and we cannot wait to try her baking creations in the office!
