Welcome Manasa!
Posted on Dec 12, 2022We’re very pleased to welcome Manasa to Retail Credit Union, part of Voyager Alliance. Manasa joined our Customer Service team in October. Here we catch up and find out a little more about her!
“I was born and grew up in Bengaluru, India. I have a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Master of Business Administration in Finance. I worked at Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Bank for 3 years when my family moved to London. I continued my banking career in London for nearly 3 years when my son was born. I had a career break to spend lots of time with my new born! My husbands’ job then relocated to Manchester, and here I am today!”
How did you get into credit unions?
“I had never really heard of credit unions before – they aren’t very popular in Bengaluru where I was born. I have worked in banking for the past 6 years, and when my family and I moved to Manchester, I saw that Retail CU needed a new Customer Service team member. The role looked similar to my previous experience, so I applied and kept my fingers crossed!”
What attracted you to work with us?
“There were 2 things which attracted me the most! The work-life balance is great for me. I can take my 19-month-old to nursery, come to work and I still get to spend a lot of quality time with him and my family. I also like that Retail CU encourages training and development. I am always learning new things!”
How are you settling into your new role so far?
“There is definitely a lot to learn but the team are really good at guiding me through and teaching me the day to day needs of my job. It can be quite challenging sometimes, I am dealing with members who are all facing different situations at the moment. We have to try out best to help members wherever possible. I’m learning something new everyday!”
